NBC News Archive: Digital Sales & Marketing Manager Position

  DIGITAL SALES & MARKETING MANAGER Role:This role will be responsible for driving revenue from online photo and video licensing and managing product marketing for a new e-commerce website. Besides driving new customer acquisition and conversion, this position will be directly involved in content analysis, curation and distribution to grow digital sales. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, self-motivated, and results-driven working in close collaboration with team members across multiple functions, including content research, rights clearance and technology operations. Responsibilities:

  • Work with GM to define and implement a global sales plan
  • Collect and use data to generate quantitative and qualitative insights to build effective go-to-market and ongoing marketing plans
  • Use analytics to understand demand, customer segments and performance to offer content that will generate revenue globally
  • Continuously track and analyze competitive landscape and market trends to make recommendations on product positioning and pricing models
  • Collect ongoing customer feedback and implement relevant content and technology solutions
  • Stay abreast of new trends, algorithm updates and best practices to ensure ongoing optimization and improvement to search and content (e.g. key-wording, topics)
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies (incl. SEO, link building, Adwords) to drive targeted traffic to website
  • Create email and social media marketing campaigns and measure ROI
  • Develop and execute targeted tactics and efforts based on demand and customer profile in key geographic markets
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of sales activity metrics, forecasts, and revenue projections
  • Execute general administrative functions related to business development, sales and marketing
  • Provide back-up support to department on additional projects and operations

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, content licensing or media
  • Superior analytical & quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated interest in visual imagery, news and historical content
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort working independently and as part of a team
  • Relentless work ethic, ability to succeed in a results-focused, high-growth culture
  • Entrepreneurial nature, highly adaptable and comfortable with change
  • Foreign language skills preferred
