Saying Goodbye to Past CEPIC President
Alfonso Gutierrez of AGE Fotostock

DMLA received the news this week that Alfonso Gutierres, AGE Fotostock has passed away.

“Alfonso was CEPIC's president for 8 years, including the two years of Corona. He brought CEPIC through a Google competition complaint at the EC and uphill negotiations on the EU copyright directive. He loved this industry and he always did the best for CEPIC, with all his means and personal commitment.“

Rest in Peace, Alfonso.
Sylvie Fodor, CEPIC Executive Director

Alfonso Gutierrez founded his company, agefotostock, nearly 50 years ago. He was a former chemist and decided to stop working in the pharmaceutical industry to become a photographer. He loved photography and this industry. To the end, Alfonso Gutierrez was still editing close to a million images a year, managing a company that distributes over 119 million from diverse collections and many photographers. His company has helped others by providing an aggregation platform called THP (Technological Hosting Platform). Satisfaction is the word that been used to describe Alfonso’s history; create a place to work in a way that satisfies the team at all times in history.

DMLA Committee Opportunities

DMLA operates as a dynamic organization fueled by volunteerism. Our dedicated Board and Committees play a pivotal role in steering the course of our activities. Striving to enhance the experience for our valued members, we have expanded our committees to encompass key areas including Legal, Technology, Marketing, and Membership.

In light of recent developments, we are actively seeking individuals to assume the crucial roles of Committee Chairs for Marketing and Membership. Furthermore, we invite 2 to 3 additional individuals to join and contribute their expertise to these committees. Should you or your colleagues express interest, we encourage you to connect with us at admin@digitalmedialicensing.org.

Participation in our committees not only presents an opportunity for professional growth but serves as a stepping stone towards Board engagement. Involvement in a DMLA committee affords valuable experience, fostering a collaborative environment that contributes to the collective success of our organization.
